Local TV Stations Face a Fuzzy Future
Sam Schechner's and Rebecca Dana's February 12, 2009 Wall Street Journal article on the local TV station's declining viewership and revenue.  The article cites quotes from Jeff Zucker (CEO, NBC Universal) and Les Moonves (CEO, CBS Corporation) regarding the major networks taking shows straight to cable/direct broadcast satellite, cutting the local TV stations out of the picture.
FreeDTVPlus Reaches Out to Top 25 Broadcast TV Owners & NAB
Dr. John Ball, FreeDTVPlus founder, submitted a white paper ("Local Television Broadcasting: A Service on the Brink of Extinction") to the top 25 broadcast TV group owners and the National Association of Broacasters in January 2009 and again in February.  The white paper warns that the broadcasters will not survive if they continue along their current path and encourages them to collectively adopt the FreeDTVPlus business concept.

Nearly 4.5 million TV Households Remain Unprepared for DTV
Television Broadcast's March 5, 2009 article on the sizeable chunk of TV households unprepared for the DTV transition. Around 4.5 million households--nearly 4 percent of the nation’s TV households--are still watching TV exclusively on analog TV sets as of March 1.
